We encourage you to read this Policy in full to understand our privacy practices before using our Services.
About Digital Garage
Digital Garage is an integrated software platform that connects motorists and their vehicles to various transactions throughout the automotive ownership lifecycle. Our digitally connected ecosystem helps drivers manage buying, maintaining, and selling vehicles from their mobile devices through our mobile application. Vehicle owners may also choose to plug a third-party device (or “Dongle”) into their On-Board Diagnostic port (“OBD-II) to collect or share information about their vehicle with our mobile app, which helps us provide our Services. For additional information about our Services, check out http://www.digitalgarage.me.
Information We Collect
We collect the following information through your use of our Services and otherwise with your consent. We also collect your information from our subsidiaries, partners, service providers, and other third party sources. These third-party sources include, for example, your automotive dealerships, vehicle manufacturers, insurance companies, and companies that supply the Dongles that you may choose to plug into your vehicles.
The types of information that we collect include:
Information about you and your Digital Garage account
Name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth and/or age, occupation information such as organization name and job title, demographic information, gender, region, and driver’s license. You provide this information to us directly during the Digital Garage account subscription or registration process, when using our User Portal, or we may obtain it from other third parties.
Vehicle and insurance information
Insurer, vehicle identification number, vehicle registration expiration, license plate number, engine type, color, mileage, trim level, vehicle health, services performed, and appointment information. You provide this information to us directly when using our Services or we obtain it from other third parties.
Driver behavioral information
When you install a Dongle and use it in with our Services, we collect information about how you drive the vehicle. This includes, but is not limited to, vehicle speeds (including maximum and average speed), acceleration and breaking metrics, engine start/stop and idle times, fuel level, battery voltage, collision notifications and assessments, diagnostics and other codes as reported by the vehicle from the OBD-II standard.
When you install a Dongle and use it with our Services, and when you install and use our mobile application, we use GPS (or other similar technology) data to collect the precise geographic location of your vehicle. We collect location information to determine vehicle trips (e.g., where the car drives over time), date/time, and other information that can be derived from this data (e.g., average speed). We also collect and use GPS data to determine traffic conditions and estimated drive time.
IP address, device type, operating system, phone carrier, push notification tokens and unique device identifiers such as your user name and password. We collect this information automatically when you use our Services.
Browser type, navigation history, usage details, such as time, frequency, and use pattern, and clickstream behavior from actions you take and features that you use on your devices. We collect this information automatically when you use our Services.
Marketing preference and other information
Information you provide when creating personal profile, contacting us, or submitting images, feedback, or newsletter subscription forms through our Services. We also collect this type of information when you interact with your dealership and other third parties through our Services.
Social media sponsored activities or offerings
Information provided by social media sites, when you choose to participate in social media-sponsored activities and offerings we provide via social media plug-ins on our website and/or mobile application. We may also collect certain information from social media sites when you log in to your Digital Garage account using a social media service or similar tool.
